AIDS/HIV Resources in Wilmington:

Coastal Carolina HIV Care Consortium

The Consortium is a non-profit group that helps people living with HIV and AIDS pay for certain medical bills, and some non-medical needs such as rent, utilities, transportation to doctors, groceries, etc. The federal Government gives Consortia funds from 2 programs - "Ryan White" and "HOPWA".  HIV case managers can access these funds from the Consortium to help with the needs mentioned above. HELP IS AVAILABLE!
If you have HIV or AIDS and live in New Hanover, Pender, Brunswick, Onslow, Duplin and/or Columbus counties, you may be eligible for financial assistance from Coastal Carolina HIV Care Consortium.

Home Testing:

You can order a test kit in the privacy of your own home. While there are wonderful professionals and care in the area for you, testing in North Carolina is not anonymous and you should consult your care giver regarding implications for your insurance, etc. prior to testing. It is essential to be tested, but make your choice of how by being as well informed about your options as possible.

The NHC Health Department offers AIDS/HIV counseling, testing and prevention awareness, as well as STD information and testing. These services are usually free or of little cost. Call for an appointment or visit their website for more information by clicking here.
